Beyond your backyard

Living outdoors is life lived at it’s fullest. Shoot hoops, take a yoga class or set records on the track at Picasso Park.

There are also a number of beautiful parks and green open spaces close by to Alkimos Vista, not to mention the beautiful Alkimos Beach which boasts white sandy beaches and rolling dunes.

With 2.5 hectares of open green space, architecturally designed Picasso Park invites all ages to connect, get active and play for endless hours. As the first ever park to be endorsed Sun Safe by Cancer Council WA, the park has been designed with plenty of shady areas, keeping you sun safe with year-round protection. Fitness lovers rejoice with a marked running track and exercise equipment along the route. A yoga area is nestled under beautiful mature trees and sports fans are in their element with the use of sports courts, a table tennis table and large playing field with AFL goal posts. For your little ones, there’s an incredible two storey undercover play structure complete with giant birds nest swing, log balance course, musical play area and in-ground trampoline. Catch your breath and have a yarn with friends over BBQs and picnics or gather together at Sprout Hub, a place to meet and connect over barista made coffee throughout the week.

Alkimos Beach Parks

A great park over three levels with views out to the ocean and Eglinton Rocks. Play equipment ideal for ages 4+. Facilities include tables, BBQ’s and benches. Located on Providence Drive.

Graceful Park Image

Graceful Park

A beautiful park planted with natives. Public art embedded in the shade structures and on the ground tells the story of the fish (munga) traps used by the local Aboriginal people. Facilities include tables, benches, play equipment and shade structure.

Sunset Peak Image

An incredible lookout with a view out to the ocean. In summer, it plays host to yoga classes and bootcamps. Popular with those looking for the perfect Instagram shot.

Leatherback Oval Image

The local sports oval configured as a football oval in winter and a cricket field in summer. Home to local footy, lacrosse, t-ball and cricket club. Facilities including lights (100 Lux), changerooms, toilets and canteen. Also popular with dog walkers, fitness groups and joggers.

For children aged 4+ to practise their riding skills. Located at Leatherback Oval.

Featuring the ‘Alkimos Ascent’ fitness staircase, outdoor fitness equipment, yoga relaxation zone, play areas, water fountain and the ideal spot for Bootcamp classes. Located on the corner Leatherback Blv & Pectoral Prom.

Alkimos Beach is one of Perth’s hidden gems. It’s white sandy beaches, rolling dunes and large grassy open space, stretch for 3km’s and is rarely crowded. There is a southern and northern access path, with parking facilities at each. The north access features the Surf Club facility, benches, shower and BBQ’s. In 2017, the Alkimos SLSC became WA’s 31st Surf Life Saving Club. The Alkimos Surf Club currently offers various member opportunities including a Sunday morning Nipper program during the summer months. The Interpretive Trail Map is available for your pick up from the Sales Offices or you can download a copy from here. And there are more signs and trail paths to come in future years as Alkimos Beach keeps growing and this will be extended to Alkimos Vista as well.
