Coder Do-jo
Anyone aged seven to 17 can visit a Dojo where they can learn to code, build a website, create an app or a game, and explore technology in an informal, creative, and social environment.

Community Development Plan

The Community Development Plan sets out the framework for the community development program at Alkimos Vista. It has examined the local community and planning context to highlight opportunities for social infrastructure and community building. The implementation plan identifies specific actions, the timeframes and required resources to create a friendly, resilient community during the development period.

Healthy and Active Living

Picasso Park: Double story play structure, multi-use sports court, playground, Sprout Community Hub and coffee. Located on the corner of Marmion Ave and Picasso Road.

Bristlebird Park: A great park over three levels with views out to ocean and Eglinton Rocks. Play equipment targets 6 plus. Facilities include tables and benches, Sprout Community Hub. Located on Providence Drive.

Graceful Park: A beautiful park planted with natives to manage storm water runoff. Public art embedded in the shade structures and on the ground, tells the story of the fish (munga) traps used by the local Aboriginal people. Facilities include tables, benches, play equipment and shade structure.

Sunset Peak: An incredible lookout with a view out to the ocean. In summer, it plays host to yoga classes and bootcamps. Facilities: Seating and shade structures. Providence Drive.

Leatherback Oval: The local sports oval configured as a football oval in winter and a cricket field in summer. Other sports clubs and fitness groups use the facilities including lights (100 Lux), 2 changerooms, 6 toilets and one canteen.

Fitness Park (to open Spring 2018): Featuring the ‘Alkimos Ascent’, fitness equipment, yoga relaxation zone and play equipment. Located on Leatherback Oval Blv & Pectoral Prom.

Access to Fresh Food

IGA, Alkimos on Graceful Boulevard provide fresh food and vegetables for the local community. A range of food offerings are available in the Gateway Shopping Precinct including the Thai Natta Restaurant, Finch and Co café, the Lighthouse café and Alkimos Pizza.

The closest food growing garden is the Brighton Community Garden, located in Amershan Crescant, Butler. They run a range of gardening courses and provide support and space for those looking to grow their own vegetables.


Waste Management

The City of Wanneroo provide waste management services for Alkimos Vista. Their website provides details on recycling, green waste, bin collection days and bulk waste pickups.


Bus: Initially Alkimos Vista will be primary serviced by buses that run along Marmion Avenue.
Train: The closest train station is Butler (approximately 3km)
Transperth provides up-to-date information on Information on bus and train timetables.
Metronet provides the latest information on the train line extension from Butler through to Yanchep. This will include a station at Alkimos, just over a 10 minute walk from Alkimos Vista.

The City of Wanneroo provides details on the key bicycle routes for the local government area.

Community Resilience Plan

The Community Resilience Plan address disaster preparation, communication (during and after), safety and response. The plan has examined key risks for Alkimos, and provided an overview of the local community. It has identified vulnerable groups in the community and listed guidelines for emergency preparedness.
