Western Australia’s 31st Surf Lifesaving Club Launched in Alkimos Beach
The Alkimos Beach project has had a number of first’s including a 3 year partnership with Surf Life Saving WA.
This partnership has enabled the growth of the Alkimos Surf Life Saving Club at a rate never seen before. At the January 2017 Country Carnival held in Albany, Western Australia, the Board of Surf Life Saving Western Australia inducted Alkimos Surf Lifesaving Club as the 31st member club in WA.
The timeline for the club from inception to induction has been the shortest ever seen. The club has a strong and motivated committee and many members have already signed up and begun their first program of nipper training at Alkimos Beach this February.
With over 1,200 residents in Alkimos Beach who are actively engaged in both the Surf Life Saving Western Australia BeachSafe program and the nippers training, there will be no shortage of healthy beach goers who are eager to support this amazing community achievement.
“We have been incredibly pleased with the progress of the Club. This has been in no small way due to the fantastic support of Lendlease. Can I offer you my personal thanks for everything that Lendlease has done to date.” Craig Smith-Gander, President Surf Life Saving Western Australia.
The club is excited to welcome all members old and new at their upcoming events. To become a member today, email Brook Johns on [email protected]
