Parks Update - August 2022
In July, we celebrated the opening of Pangolin Park. The 350m long, linear park begins at the roundabout near Alkimos Beach Primary School and continues down Leatherback Blvd towards the beach. The new park compliments and beautifies the spaces between our large Norfolk Pines that line Leatherback Blvd.
The park features a timber play space with log steppers, timber balance beam and rope net platform plus a small turf kickabout space and shaded picnic setting.
Take a walk through Pangolin Park:
We recently closed our public survey for our Foreshore Park concept plan. The public feedback was important in confirming our overall design and enabling us to make some tweaks to the design to better meet community needs.
The updated concept was submitted to the City of Wanneroo for approval in July. We anticipate to commence works on the new park towards the end of 2022.
We also hope you saw our community poll on Facebook asking what colour scheme our hero play tower should be. The winner was Red and Yellow! Thanks to all who voted.
