Construction Update

Stage 10A - the latest land release at Alkimos Beach is now selling. This release is located less than 500m from the beach and features some of the best views at Alkimos Beach. With only 19 lots remaining at The Rise in Stage 9, don’t miss out on building your dream home on one of these exclusive lots! Titles for these lots are schedule to be available early March 2019.

Sand Dune Earthworks

We are pleased to confirm that the earthworks are now complete opposite Alkimos Beach Primary School. You will notice that sand drift rectification is now underway. Finished double-storey homes with ocean views

Have you viewed our completed double-storey homes on Providence Drive? These homes by Link Residential have been beautifully finished by the quality builder Express Two Storey Living. 3 bed x 2 bath designs are on display opposite Escarpment Park with wonderful ocean views from both ground floor and first floor.

Interpretive Signage

Have you seen the new exciting Interpretive Signage Trails at Alkimos Beach yet? The three trails connect a series of interpretive signs and existing pathways, giving residents and visitors an opportunity to explore the Alkimos Beach neighbourhood while learning all about it. New trails will be added over the coming years to make the experience even more fun as the community grows.

The signs include information about Noongar and recent history, sustainability and local flora and fauna. There is an audio sign too, which contains eight audio stories to listen to. Each interpretive panel is colour coded according to its subject matter. Head to the Alkimos Beach website for the online map, or grab a printed copy from our Sale Centres or the Alkimos Beach Pop-Up Library, where there is a quiz available for the kids as well.

Community News

The 2018/19 Alkimos Surf Life Saving season is close to wrapped up and what a great year it was. With a record membership of 360 members they ran nipper’s sessions each Sunday morning teaching kids all about beach safety as well as patrolling Alkimos Beach each Sunday morning.

Whilst the Surf Club celebrates its achievements this season, it is busy preparing for the next summer season. The Club are excited to announce that they plan to increase patrol hours at Alkimos Beach next summer.

Our Winter competition teams will soon commence their 2019 campaigns. The Brighton Seahawks Junior Football Club have their junior girls teams play under lights at Leatherback Oval on Friday nights and junior boys games Sunday mornings. We also welcome the Alkimos Pirates Lacrosse Club who will be playing home games at Leatherback Oval on Saturdays.

The Footy Fundamentals program returned to Alkimos Beach during Term 1 2019. Footy Fundamentals is a carefully planned and structured AFL program, for 2 – 5 year old’s to develop their fundamental movement skills in a fun and safe environment.

The program operates Fridays 9:30am – 11:30pm at Leatherback Oval.

Summer sports are well underway with teams beginning to plan for Winter 2019. With the new floodlights at Leatherback Oval and demountable changing and toilet facilities on site, there are opportunities for clubs to host training and games for summer season. Alkimos Pop Up Library

The Pop Up Library continues to provide a wide variety of programs and activities for residents. In February the Pop Up Library welcomed the start of the LEGO club with drop in building sessions taking place on Friday’s from 3pm – 5pm. Recommended for ages 5 – 12 years.

Gateway Shopping Precinct

In December, the Gateway Shopping Precinct welcomed Becha Malaysian Cuisine who joined the ever-growing list of food tenants and coming soon will be a new kebab shop. Works on the new Tavern are also progressing. With the bulk exterior construction works now completed, the landlord has handed the Tavern over and the fit-out is underway with an opening mid-year.
The Gateway Shopping Precinct will play host to four FREE outdoor movie nights each Friday through April. The outdoor movies will be situated on the grassed area behind the Alkimos Beach huts starting at 8pm. All are welcome.

Traffic Management

Some traffic management will be in place during the works along Leatherback Blvd and the south beach access but should see minimal impact on residents.
