Community Events
Alkimos Beach is home to many groups, clubs and organisations that host community events through the year. There are also plenty of great outdoor and indoor spaces to run your own party and catchup.
Our residents have opportunities to come together frequently throughout the year, at regular events such as our Gateway Street Fair, School Family Fun Days, Surf Carnivals, Clean up Days and Meet Your Neighbour events.
Here is a taste of some of our previous events…
Gateway Street Fair
Last held in 2019, over 2000 people came along to celebrate the Gateway Street Fair and the best the Gateway Shopping Centre had to offer. The weather was perfect as people enjoyed live animal displays, giant inflatables, delicious food, games and more.
Meet Your Neighbour
These annual events are a great opportunity to get to know your neighbours, meet new people and greet some local community groups.
Beach Clean Up Day
At the end of each summer we invite all residents to join us, the local scouts, Alkimos Surf Life Saving Club and Alkimos Beach Progress Association to help keep our beach pristine and beautiful. Last time over 50 locals helped pull over 70kg of rubbish off the beach after a well-used summer.
Alkimos Development Surf Carnival
Each Summer, hundreds of Nippers from Northern Suburbs Surf Clubs decent on Alkimos Beach for the annual Alkimos Development Surf Carnival. Last year hundreds of spectators cheered on close to 300 competitors who challenged each other in events such as swim and board races, beach flags and relays. Keep an eye on the Alkimos SLSC’s Facebook page for details.
The Landing Tavern
The Landing is Alkimos’ newest and most exciting port of call. With live music, quiz nights, regular shows and a big screen to watch all your favourite sports, there’s always something happening. Visit The Landing’s website or Facebook page for details on upcoming events.
