Hume Freeway Interchange Construction
Starting in August
The second stage of the O’Herns Road upgrade has been given the green light.
The Federal government approved the project with a $50million commitment to the second stage of the $103 million O’Herns Road upgrade.
Stage 2 of the highly anticipated upgrade includes building a diamond interchange with direct access to the freeway, as well as a new lane in each direction along O’Herns Road between the freeway and Redding Rise.
New traffic light-controlled intersections along O-Herns Road at Edgars Road, Gateway Boulevard and Koukoura Drive will also be built.
Works are expected to start this month (August 2019) and will be delivered by VEC Civil Engineering, with an anticipated completion by mid-2021.
