Recreation Facilities in Epping North

The recreation facilities around Epping North are very impressive and many – just ask James Lake, Tame Leader Strategic Planning (Leisure and Recreation) from the City of Whittlesea. He unveils some of the exciting current and new recreational developments we expect to see in and around Aurora.

Right now in Epping North there are already 4 lit tennis courts, 3 soccer pitches and two lawn bowls facilities. There is also the Epping Soccer Stadium which is high quality enough that the Melbourne Victory Youth team currently trains there.

In the Aurora community there is also the vast multipurpose open space near Harvest Home Primary School which is available for public use by residents.

In the future, we can expect to see more recreational facilities created in the Harvest Home Road Community Pavilion. These will include:

  • 3 soccer facilities;
  • 8 Australian Rules and cricket ovals;
  • 10 tennis courts;
  • ·outdoor netball courts;
  • a regional playspace.

The Edgars Creek Community and Education Precinct will also include its own recreational facilities such as:

  • 2 Australian Rules and cricket ovals;
  • 4 tennis courts;
  • a community pavilion.

Finally, the City of Whittlesea has also started planning for a future district level aquatic facility in Wollert. This will be located at Boundary Road and Bodycoats Road.
