Have you seen the bulldozers between Dundas Chase and Werribee Crescent? They’ve been working hard to create a brand new recreation space for families in the Aurora community – the soon to be unveiled Aurora Village Park 1.

Located right in the heart of the Aurora community between the Stage 3 and Stage 4 sectors of the development is another fabulous and modern urban playspace specially designed for the kids of Aurora. The idea of the design here was to integrate as much of the already existing natural landscape as possible. So our bulldozers are working carefully around those huge gum trees to make sure they are carefully preserved.

The new timber climbing structures that are part of the new playground will actually interact with the tree canopy – so it will feel as if the kids are really in amongst nature. We’re putting in a specially designed bridge so the children can move between equipment and the landscape will be kept colourful and safe with specially designed rubber rocks that are spongy to walk and climb over.

As well as this there is a whole lot of equipment closer to the ground – think balancing and bouncing spring equipment, in ground mini trampolines, a basket swing and rope climb ball.

And all around Aurora Village Park 1 is a rubber circuit track complete with its own miniature traffic signs so the kids can play driver for a change.

Aurora’s latest playground was created by Spiire (a multidisciplinary design company that specials in sustainable developments). In keeping with their design ethos Aurora Village Park 1 is both functional but also sophisticated so it can cater to the needs of parents and kids.

As such there is a solar tree – a dedicated place where you can charge your phone while you’re playing with the kids. They’ve also designed a modern, architectural barbeque shelter so you have somewhere to hang out or prepare some lunch while the children run in the fresh air.

Need some caffeine to go with your playdate? Don’t forget that the brand new community café Sprout Hub Aurora is only a short walk away and open to meet all your cappuccino and babyccino needs.

And, yes, since this is called Aurora Village Park 1 that suggests that in the future there will be an Aurora Village Park 2 so you will have lots of options to take the kids to play around Aurora. Watch this space for more details soon!
