Enrolling for Kindergarten in Aurora

Did you know that if you want your child to start kindergarten in Aurora in 2018 you need to get your enrolment form in now? The closing date for 2018 starters is June 30 next year – which is coming along faster than you think!

All children in Victoria are entitled to 10 to 15 hours of subsidised 4-year-old kindergarten and this is really the ideal way to prepare your little ones in their last year before school. “4 years old” refers to all children who have turned 4 by April 30 in the year they are attending.

There are 35 kindergartens in the City of Whittlesea alone (you can see the full list here) so there are plenty of options for you to choose the right one for your family.

Places are awarded in order of receipt of application forms – so the earlier you get yours in, the better! You will get confirmation of your child’s place in kindergarten from July to September of the year before you want to start.

Don’t forget that all kindergarteners must be up to date with their full immunisation schedule before their enrolment is accepted – the kindergarten will require you to provide evidence of this.

And remember, if your child already attends 3-year-old kindergarten that does not mean they are automatically eligible for 4-year-old. Check with your kindergarten about the best process for this.

To apply for your kindergarten spot, download the enrolment application here and return it to the City of Whittlesea.
