State Government Commits $40.7 Million to Diamond Interchange

Diamond Interchange

The Victorian state government has submitted a business case to the Federal Government to seek further funding to support the much talked about “diamond interchange” that will connect O’Herns Road with the Hume Freeway as well as duplicating another 1.4 kilometres of O’Herns Road on the eastern side. Part of this plan includes replacing the roundabout at O’Herns, Findon and Epping Road with a set of traffic lights.

Not only will this improve traffic flow and allow for greater access for the residents of Aurora in and out of the suburb, the City of Whittlesea Council believes this will directly result in an increase of $348 million in state productivity during the construction phase and $91 million annually once the build is complete.
