Sell-out land releases spell a new dawn for Epping’s Aurora
Strong interest in Lendlease’s newest community Aurora, located in Epping North, has seen land releases sell out and fast tracked to keep up with demand.
Managing Director of Lendlease’s Communities business, Matthew Wallace, said that the vision for Aurora is to deliver an extremely livable and sustainable community, that lives up to the high standards set by its originator, Victorian Government developer, Places Victoria.
Aurora will apply Lendlease’s 50 years of experience in creating vibrant communities, with a focus on delivering cohesive, socially-connected neighborhoods, in an environment that combines sustainability, innovation and native beauty.
“It shows people love living in Melbourne’s north, and want the lifestyle Aurora will deliver - with its parklands, schools, shops and services all within walking distance from home,” said Mr Wallace.
Owner-occupiers make up the majority of the buyers, who are keen to live in Victoria’s first and only accredited 6 Star Green Star rated community – awarded by the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA).
In awarding Aurora its 6 Star Green Star rating, GBCA’s Chief Executive Officer, Romilly Madew said: “Lendlease understands that building a sustainable community must go beyond physical environments.
“It means creating employment opportunities and economic prosperity, supporting diverse, affordable and liveable places that enhance people’s wellbeing, and fostering the community’s connections with nature and culture.”
Places Victoria sold 316 hectares of the Aurora estate to Lendlease and in November 2015, Lendlease assumed responsibility for the land it purchased.
Once complete, the development will be home to 3,100 new dwellings and 10,000 additional residents within Aurora.
