Early childhood education

There are eight early learning centres within the Aurora estate ranging from childcare centres to preschools, and a few more close by to make drop-off or pick-up an easy part of your commute. Find a centre that best suits you and your child’s needs including Epping North YMCA Early Learning CentreStory House Early Learning Centre, One Early Education Group in Wollert, Wallaby Childcare Epping, Expeditions Early Learning Journey, Galada Kindergarten and the Ganbu Gulinj Kindergarten, opening soon at the Ganbu Gulinj Community Centre.

Kids can walk, bike or scoot to school with their friends at the well-established Harvest Home Primary School and St Mary of the Cross Mackillop Primary School as well as the latest addition to Aurora’s primary school offering, Edgars Creek Primary School, which opened its doors in 2021. All three schools offer a well-rounded, nurturing and engaging education experience, with state-of-the-art facilities and a thriving community spirit.

Located in the heart of Aurora, Edgars Creek Secondary College is a big part of the community. A Victorian government school offering education to year 7, 8 and 9 students, featuring specialist facilities in STEM, Learning Neighbourhoods, a performing arts building, and competition size Sports Hall for interdisciplinary project-base learning.

Epping Secondary CollegeSt Monica’s College and Mill Park Secondary College are also close by, as well as the Peter Lalor Vocational College, a modern technical school offering hands-on applied learning.

Whether it’s the next step after high school or returning to study later in life, Aurora is also handy to a range of universities and colleges. For uni options, you’ve got La Trobe University and RMIT Bundoora Campus, both less than 30 minutes’ drive away. The Melbourne Polytechnic Epping Campus offers a wide range of innovative TAFE (VET) and higher education courses. Fun fact: they are the largest provider of agricultural training in Victoria.
