Cobblebank Train Station and connecting Bus route now operational

Cobblebank Train Station

Great news for Atherstone residents - the new Cobblebank Station is now open and operational.

Along with a new station, two extra peak trains between Melton and Southern Cross will be introduced each weekday – one in the morning peak, and another in the afternoon, made possible thanks to the 18km track duplication between Deer Park west and Melton.

The modern and accessible station will feature lifts, ramps, lighting and CCTV as well as a car park with drop-off zones and secure bike storage for passengers.

Residents will also benefit from a connecting bus route, Route 454, which will make it easy for locals to leave the car at home, with services every 40 minutes in the weekday peak, and every 60 minutes on weekends. The new bus services will run between Melton and Cobblebank Station, and between the newly rebuilt Rockbank Station and nearby Aintree.

Ballarat trains will have a new timetable beginning 1 December to allow services to stop at the new station. The times of connecting coach services will also change to ensure these connections are maintained.

Passengers can download a copy of their new timetable at ptv.vic.gov.au.
