Primary School Announced for 2022

Great news that under the current state government, the Primary School on Bridge Road has been promised for opening in 2022!

This is a fantastic outcome for Atherstone residents seeking a convenient location to send their children for their education needs.

In a recent Star Weekly news story, published 13th November 2018, Education Minister James Merlino, committed to opening the Bridge Road primary school by 2022.

“Victoria is growing and we need to plan ahead to make sure that every child has access to a great local school,” Mr Merlino said.

Kororoit MP Marlene Kairouz stressed the importance of education and schools across the region.

“We are building new schools and upgrading many more because nothing is more important than our kids’ future,” Ms Kairouz said during a visit to Melton.

The Primary School will be conveniently situated next to the existing Bridge Road Children’s & Community Centre, Atherstone’s Regional Play Space, and the Regional Sports Precinct, plus the future Atherstone Traffic School, forecast to open late 2019.

It adds to a range of exciting new amenity planned for the Atherstone community including a new train station in Cobblebank (opening late 2019) and the Principal Town Centre, located on Ferris Road, which features a raft of civil, commercial, retail, education and medical amenity.
