Local Business Profile: BridgeAus Migration Consultancy
Why set up your local business in the Atherstone area rather than the Melbourne CBD? Because not only does it give you access to a network of other local businesses all helping each other to succeed, you will also be creating jobs in your neighbourhood, argues Johanna Bertumen Nonato. The CEO of BridgeAus Migration Consultancy lives in the Melton City Council area and deliberately chose to move her head office to Atherstone to be a part of the community of new entrepreneurs calling the Western BACE home.
What does Bridge Aus Migration Consultancy do?
BridgeAus Migration Consultancy offers migration and education advisory services and visa application assistance. We assist businesses in applying for sponsorship when hiring temporary visa holders with limited work rights. Our Migration Agents (including myself) are both from the Melton City Council area.
Why did you decide to move your business into Western BACE?
I have chosen Western BACE to be our business' main office because I support Western BACE's objective of creating jobs in the West. Melton has a growing population and we really need local jobs to lessen our travel time (as most of the workers drive to Melbourne CBD) so we can enjoy a more time with our families.
What do you like about working at Western BACE?
Working at Western BACE ignites my creativity. I get to focus on my tasks at hand as it is a very quiet and relaxing place. This is my place of choice whenever I need to do my marketing plan, set the direction for our business or think about how to improve our operations.
[Also] it is the best place to collaborate with and support other small businesses. At Western BACE, we are not merely tenants, we are a family of different businesses and we try to help each other out.
What is your personal favourite small business at Western BACE?
My favourite is LoveTease because I love their teas! They have very innovative and consistent marketing activities and, of course I love the owner, Adele!
Do you have any tips or advice for other budding entrepreneurs or small businesses considering starting up in the area?
My only tip for small businesses starting up in this area is to join us now! Don't try to be isolated and do all things on your own. Western BACE is great place to grow with its state-of-the-art building, very fast internet and all the lovely tenants, management and staff who are here to welcome you with open arms.
Whatever your business is, you will surely attract customers if you are genuine and passionate about helping them. Know your target market, understand their needs, create your competitive advantage, create a marketing strategy, execute your marketing activities and measure your success.
