Traffic Education School
Over the past months, The UDL Group have made fantastic progress on Atherstone’s Traffic Education School. It has now achieved practical completion and is in the process of being handed over to Melton Council where it is anticipated to open to the public early next year.
Located adjacent to the Bridge Road Regional Play Space and Children's and Community Centre, the Traffic Education School will feature a simulated track including road signs and signals. The launch phase of the school will provide for 60 bikes, an open-air classroom in landscape surrounds and communal barbeque facilities and toilets.
Local Convenience Centre – The Place Cobblebank
The community is closer to welcoming a new mixed-use hub consisting of 16 retail and commercial spaces. The Place Cobblebank, developed by Oreana Group, is so far confirmed to feature a Pizza, Indian and Kabab Restaurants, Ice Cream shop, supermarket and bottle-o.
Practical completion is anticipated December 2022, with retailers expected to open their doors to customers early in the new year.
First Nations Library at Strathtulloh Primary School
Thursday 13 October was the official opening of the First Nation’s Library at Strathtulloh Primary School, funded by Lendlease in partnership with Readings Foundation.
A ribbon in the Strathulloh school colours was cut to mark the opening by State member for Melton Steve McGhie, Matilda Langley from Lendlease and Poet Laureate Gabrielle Wang .
The grade six students at the school had worked tirelessly to prepare for the opening and spoke eloquently and with pride about the importance of reading and sharing stories.
Landscaping works at Atherstone’s Central Wetlands are nearing completion with the remaining plants, viewing platforms and picnic shelters currently being installed.
We look forward to the plants maturing over the years, and for this area to be enjoyed by our residents early in 2023, after practical completion is achieved late 2022.
Palara Village Park & Linear Reserves
Palara Village Park is progressing well with earthworks now complete, and the entirety of the Linear Reserves are now complete.
Upon completion, the park will include a pavilion and picnic settings including a BBQ, plus play equipment and bike racks. Palara Village Park is anticipated complete by mid 2023.

We sincerely appreciate the community’s patience as we await the energisation of traffic lights at the completed road upgrade intersection of Ferris & Alfred Road.
Fortunately, the next stage of Ferris Road is well underway, with construction anticipated to commence in the middle of this year. This next stretch of Ferris Road will extend down to the future Ravenscraig Drive and complete the connection through to Wembley Avenue.
Future updates will be communicated via Melton City Council and Atherstone’s social pages. Please continue to be aware of changed traffic conditions as we finalise this important piece of community infrastructure.
Cobblebank Train Line Overpass
On 6 October the Victorian Government announced that Melton will soon be level crossing-free.
The level crossings at Coburns Road, Exford Road, and Ferris Road will be removed by 2028 - with works expected to begin next year.
Removing the crossings will help slash travel times and improve traffic in and out of Melton.

We have recently titled Park Edge Stage 41 and look forward to welcoming all new residents that will soon call Atherstone home.
We currently have four stages under construction, roughly totalling 330 lots, which completes the Palara and Park Edge South precincts.
