Elaine In For The Long Haul
Thirty one years may have come and gone but Lendlease’s Elaine Reade still gets excited about every new development she is tasked with selling.
Since joining the company in September 1985, the sales consultant has worked at Golden Grove (17 years), Mawson Lakes (eight years) and Blakes Crossing (five years) — achieving a staggering 2917 sales worth more than $245 million in revenue over that time.
Ms Reade said one of the best parts to her job was speaking with people embarking on buying life’s most important purchase, a land and a house.
“I love helping them to attain the best they can,” she said.
“I think Blakes is at a good stage at the moment — it has a lot on the ground and a lot we are about to do so the progress is exciting.
“Whichever development I work in I think it is the best. I suppose it is a bit of ownership of where you are and giving the best you can to the area and the people who live or are about to live in our development.”
Ms Reade said her career highlights included meeting colleagues in different States as well as work trips throughout Australia — and even to New Zealand and Scotland.
“It doesn’t seem like 31 years,” she said. “The time has gone so fast and each year has been a celebration in its own way. There is never a dull moment.”
Damien Collins, Regional Development Manager of Lendlease Communities in South Australia, said Ms Reade’s loyalty and commitment to Lendlease was admirable.
“Elaine’s devotion to her job and her figures speak for themselves,” he said.
“She sets a fine example and is a real role model to those joining the company.”
