Yarrabilba youth diving into local job opportunities
Looking to dive into local job opportunities close to home? The family owned and operated Little Snappers Swim School is ready to make a big splash with the next generation of swim teachers, currently liaising with the local high schools in Yarrabilba to recruit new staff members.
Run by Chris Dellit, her son Mark Dalle Cort and his wife Mai Dalle Cort, the award-winning swim school that is known for nurturing swimmers into confident aqua-enthusiasts, is also creating opportunities for young people to make their own waves in the industry.
“We are currently liaising with the local high schools to identify potential learn-to-swim teachers from Grade 11 and 12,” said Chris.
“This will suit those perhaps going onto university in careers such as teaching, sports science, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and the like who may like a part time position that will complement their careers or could in fact become their career. As a Swim Australia Trainer, I can train them in every discipline from infants to internationals.
“We look to our locals who also may be interested in becoming instructors. I have found my best teachers over 40 years to have come from the mums who have attended classes with their own children. Pick the personality, train the skill.”
Community programs that make a big splash
Beyond its regular swim classes, the Yarrabilba swim school is dedicated to making a significant impact on the local community, running a series of free community programs. Let’s see what’s on offer;
- Free aqua aerobics on Tuesday & Thursday evenings

- Swim lessons for babies 3 to 6 month and parents
- Four-day school holidays learn to swim intensives - 5 years and up

The swim school is also a provider for the SwimSmart Queensland Government $150 swimming voucher for 0-4 year olds.
