Yarrabilba welcomes new Fire and Rescue Station
Ready for action, the new $4.7 million state-of-the-art facility represents a massive milestone in our community’s ongoing safety.
Attending the special opening ceremony was Minister for Fire and Emergency Service, Mark Ryan MP, Member for Logan, Linus Power and Queensland Fire and Emergency Services Deputy Commissioner Mark Roche.
Minister Mark Ryan said the new station was an important addition to an area that had seen considerable growth in recent years.
“Yarrabilba is part of a booming residential growth corridor between Brisbane and the Gold Coast,” he said.
“It’s important we recognise the implications of current and future population growth in areas like Yarrabilba and plan for infrastructure that will grow with the community.”
Lendlease Development Director for Yarrabilba Michelle Wooldridge said the new station was designed to cater to our growing catchment area and ensure residents safety now and into the future.
“The opening of the Yarrabilba Fire and Rescue Station is a welcome addition to our community that will not only assist with vehicle housing, training, and fighting fires locally but will also help protect our residents.“
This wonderful new facility will be able to deliver enhanced services to the Yarrabilba community providing a boost for our frontline firefighting services in the area.”
