It’s official! Yarrabilba notches up 10,000 residents
Less than 10 years after the first block of land was sold, Yarrabilba’s population has just reached 10,000 residents. What a milestone!
Launched in 2012 as a priority development area for the fast-growing Logan corridor, Yarrabilba is already a thriving, modern township with four schools, two childcare centres, health services, a Coles supermarket, restaurants, cafes, sports fields and employment hubs.
Our fifth school, a state primary school to be located in our latest neighbourhood, The Parks, will open to students in 2023.As Australia’s fourth fastest selling project over the past nine years, more than 1,000 people move to Yarrabilba each year.
“We are extremely excited to reach 10,000 residents at Yarrabilba, which is a testament to the popularity of our community and the passion of our proud local residents,” said Lendlease Development Director for Yarrabilba Michelle Wooldridge.
“Yarrabilba has quickly become so much more than just a place to live,” she said.
“It is a vibrant, active and welcoming community with all the everyday essentials people need and more things to do and see popping up every day.
“With innovation and sustainability at the heart of everything we do, Yarrabilba will continue to flourish for many generations to come."
Did you know?
The Logan City Council commissioned an official population and employment study for Yarrabilba in 2009, which predicted the community would have 9,927 residents by 2021.
A vision statement developed in 2010 said Yarrabilba would be “a complete town, with a strong, healthy and prosperous community, rich in social capital which provides employment, learning and diverse housing opportunities through the adoption of sustainable development principles”.
Looks like we’re right on track!
