Yarrabilba Dads Group – community, conversation and connection
The Yarrabilba Dad’s Group at Family Community Place is connecting a community of Dads, changing the culture of fatherhood and helping Dads navigate the world of parenthood.
Logan local, Justin Walters established the group to support Yarrabilba Dads, providing a safe place for them to share experiences, form friendships and most importantly have a laugh.
“I formed the group after hearing that Family and Community Place was open to providing a venue for a Dads group. As a Logan local for 32 years and a father of four who had the time and opportunity to try, I wanted to start something that could help support other local Dads,’ said Justin.
“The Yarrabilba Dads group is pretty straight forward. It’s a place for Dads to hang out and chat about Dad stuff, the weather, bad jokes, anything really.
“We believe that kids thrive when parents are supported, and Dads are no exception. Dads help their kids develop the foundations in their brains that help them throughout their entire lives. It’s a group of Dads that help each other focus on what we are good at and the skills that help our kids grow into amazing adults.”
The new group currently meets at 5.30pm-7.30pm on the first Thursday of every month at Family Community Place. There is always a feed provided on the night. If you like a snag on the BBQ, then you’ll be right at home.
The group welcomes all new Dads to come down and enjoy a night with likeminded fathers.
