We’re ramping up our Park2Park series

We’re keeping the good times rolling and ramping up our Park2Park Series, offering more interactive workshops for the whole family to enjoy. Let’s look at what’s coming to your neighbourhood.

We’re keeping the good times rolling, with more exciting, interactive fun just beyond your backyard. Since launching Yarrabilba’s Park2Park Series, it’s been wonderful seeing our community come together to connect, get to know their neighbours and enjoy some quality family time.

From the popular Food Truck Fridays to family movie nights under the stars and our new BMX and circus workshops, there’s a range of events for all the family to enjoy. Why not come along to one, or a few!

May Food Truck Fridays

Ready to sink your teeth into the popular Food Truck Fridays? To kick off our May Food Truck events, My Latino Fusion will be rolling into Greenstone Park on Friday, May 5, dishing up South American foods from 5pm to 8pm. Then, on Friday May 19, Roam’in Pizza will be serving the woodfired pizzas of your dreams at Huggins Park between 5pm and 8pm. Friday night dinner for the whole family sorted!

BMX Workshop

  • Saturday, May 7 at Buxton Park from 2pm-5pm

If a BMX stunt show and workshop sounds like your idea of a good time, we’ve got some good news. On Saturday, May 7, we will be hosting a BMX trick show and workshop at Buxton Park between 2pm and 5pm. Professional riders will demonstrate stunts and tricks, and kids have an opportunity to learn basic bike skills including navigating through obstacles and small jumps. From beginner to advanced, the skills learnt in the workshop can be used on all types of bikes.

Bookings for the afternoon are essential and will open Tuesday 2 May. And did we mention there will be an ice cream van as well? The perfect end to an afternoon of BMX-ing if you ask us!

But why stop there? Come down early and make a whole day of it by inviting friends and family down to Buxton Park for a BBQ lunch before the workshop. With an expansive playground featuring built-in trampolines, swings, and the wavy caterpillar-like feature to run, climb and play on plus undercover seating, BBQ’s toilets and plenty of parking, Buxton Park is the perfect spot to spend the day connecting with loved ones and playing about.

Movie Night – Buxton Park

  • Saturday, May 27 at Buxton Park from 5pm

Super Pets (2022) is coming to the big screens at Buxton Park on Saturday May 27. The screening will start at 5pm with an open-air cinema, free popcorn for the first two hundred guests and a community barbeque. Round up the kids, throw down a blanket and get ready for the perfect Saturday evening with the Yarrabilba community. With the weather cooling down, be sure to wear something warm or bring a jumper!

June Food Truck Fridays

  • Friday, June 2 at Autumnfield Park from 5pm – Rolls Pho Mi
  • Friday, June 16 at Daybreak Park from 5pm – SoCal Tacos

Dishing up Vietnamese street food on Friday, June 2, is Rolls Pho Mi. They’ll be at Autumnfield Park from 5pm to 8pm serving delicious eats.

Then, on Friday, June 16, Mexican food truck SoCal Tacos will be at Daybreak Park from 5pm to 8pm. Why not invite the neighbours and come early in the afternoon, let the kids run around and climb on the echidna playground, then enjoy some delicious tacos together.

Circus Workshop

  • Saturday, June 4 at Daybreak Park from 2pm-5pm

Be sure to mark Saturday, June 4, in your calendars because between 2pm and 5pm, a circus workshop is taking over Daybreak Park. Come along to be awed by circus entertainers and have the chance to learn a few tricks of your own. We’ll be giving out free fairy floss and popcorn for the first two hundred people, so put on your comfiest clothes, round up the whole family and come along early for the perfect pre-circus snack.

If you are new to the neighbourhood, Daybreak Park is located on Daybreak and Highlands Street. The park is equipped with exercise equipment, a large shelter and BBQ as well as a unique echidna playground for the kids to climb and play, making it the perfect space to spend your weekends relaxing while the kids play all day.

Movie Night – Darlington Park

  • Saturday, 24 June at Darlington Park from 5-8pm

We’re throwing back to 1993 for this Movie Night Madness where a Jamaican sprinter is disqualified from the Olympic Games so he enlists the help of a dishonored coach to start the first Jamaican Bobsled Team. Any guesses on what’s screening? That’s right, if you guessed Cool Runnings, you’re spot on. As usual, we’ll be kicking off with a family barbeque, and free popcorn for the first two hundred guests.

With a water play area, playground, basketball area, fitness equipment, BBQs and picnic areas, Darlington Park has something for everyone. If you can’t make it for the movie, why not come along over the weekend and enjoy all that Darlington Park has to offer.

We can’t wait to celebrate our vibrant community with our Park2Park Series. For more information click here.
