Teachers on track for Cancer Councils Relay for Life

An exciting first for our community, Team Guess will join 13 local teams in Yarrabilba’s Relay for Life event, a fun and moving experience that raises vital funds for the Cancer Council’s research, prevention, information and support services.

Relay for Life is a chance to recognise and celebrate local cancer survivors, patients and their carers, to honour and remember loved ones lost to cancer, and to raise money to help save more lives.

Team Guess has already raised more than $4,600 for the Cancer Council, inspired by local families and staff members affected by cancer.

Team captain Kathy Curie-Dauth said the group had been competing in Relay for Life events since 2009.

"Everyone in our team knows someone who has been affected by cancer. We originally formed a team as someone in our school community was diagnosed with cancer. Now we continue each year to raise vital funds for the Cancer Council,” she said.

“Our team is very passionate about raising money for the Cancer Council and the vital support they provide for families and people with cancer. We are so excited to have this year’s event in Yarrabilba.”

The Yarrabilba Relay for Life 2021 will take place at San Damiano College, Yarrabilba on Saturday, 23 October, 2pm-9pm.
