Yarrabilba’s thriving community continues to evolve as the construction of The Parks forges ahead. Civil Contractor Golding has revealed that more than 100 workers are on site each day, operating a staggering $20 million plus worth of machinery.

Helping to pave the way for the ‘green heart’ of Yarrabilba, Golding has been working closely with Lendlease, KN Group, RPS and specialised landscape subcontractor Eureka to construct a liveable and connected address that preserves items of cultural significance and the natural environment.

“Golding was engaged by Lendlease to undertake construction of The Parks due to our ongoing relationship, which has developed and grown over the past six years,” said Golding Civil Project Manager Cameron McClure.

“My role as the project manager has been to work closely with all stakeholders on this project to ensure a safe and timely delivery of The Parks so people can enjoy the new spaces we are creating.”

Golding has been working in partnership with Lendlease on Yarrabilba since 2017 and to date has delivered more than 500 residential lots with a further 850 residential lots now under construction, including multiple parks and commercial allotments such as the new Yarrabilba state school, due to open in 2023.

The group’s scope of works includes bulk earthworks, installation of underground services, installation of retaining walls, road construction, landscaping, lighting and traffic signal works.

“Golding’s scope for The Parks involves working around existing flora and fauna to complete bulk earthworks, stormwater drainage, management of specialised landscape contractors, protection of items of cultural significance and liaising with multiple stakeholders, including Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service, landscape architects, traditional owners and local authorities,” said Cameron.

“During our time at Yarrabilba, Golding continues to work with local industries for the supply of materials, labour and subcontractors to support the growing workforce at Yarrabilba.”

Surrounded by nature, more than 35 per cent of The Parks is dedicated to parklands and green space, creating a truly seamless connection to the natural environment.

With a new state primary school now confirmed to open in 2023 and the future Yarrabilba Town Centre only moments away, The Parks will be one of the most connected addresses within Yarrabilba.

It will also be home to Yarrabilba’s third district sports fields, a new district recreational park and another neighbourhood park, all within easy walking distance for residents. Yarrabilba’s next Sales and Information Centre and Display Village, set to open early 2023 will also be located within The Parks.

The first homes in The Parks are expected to start construction this year with residents moving in before Christmas.

The Parks launch is a major milestone in the story of Yarrabilba, which just keeps getting better and better!
