Liz gets the keys to her new life at Yarrabilba

Yarrabilba resident Liz Spanner has the keys to her new life in the community, building her dream home in The Parks precinct.

After moving to Yarrabilba with her parents five years ago, Liz decided to pave her own path to home ownership, after being referred by her mother Wendy Spanner.

“I decided to build in Yarrabilba due to the community, that no matter the issue, your neighbours are always happy to help. Cups of sugar to a working bee for the front garden, everyone is willing to help and are all really nice,” said Liz.

“I had been looking at land for a few months before The Parks was released and just never found anything that really took my heart. Tracie from the sales centre knew I had been looking and gave me a call with the land release. I fell in love with the infrastructure that was planned for The Parks.

“My new home is perfect for me, just the right size for my lifestyle right now. My kitchen is my favourite room as I love cooking.”

Liz’s tips for young people building their first home is to always listen and take on advice from people who have built before.

“I hated listening to the advice in the beginning, but I soon realised that I was in way over my head and soon appreciated all the advice,” said Liz.

“I really enjoyed watching my home being built by Simmonds. Every week, there was something different taking place, something new to look at. I am planning on staying in Yarrabilba for a while as I love the area and the surrounding environment. I cannot wait for what the next 10 years holds for Yarrabilba and myself.”
