Game on! Meet the Yarrabilba Gaming Guild building friendships through board games
Board games, strategy battles, and new friendships are being forged every week at The Buzz Community Centre!
A new community group is bringing Yarrabilba residents together for weekly table top gaming!
While virtual games and social media dominate today’s entertainment, the Yarrabilba Gaming Guild (YGG) offers a refreshing space for residents to connect over the timeless fun of table top games.
Every Monday afternoon, members of the Guild gather at The Buzz Yarrabilba Community Centre to enjoy a variety of card games, board games, and role-playing games (RPGs). It’s a welcoming environment where players of all ages and experience levels can come together to learn, teach, and—most importantly - have fun!
Discover fun, friendship and strategy
According to Kheva Brok, one of YGG’s dedicated members, the Guild is more than just a gaming group—it’s a supportive community. "We strive to make tabletop gaming accessible and fun for all, no matter what you play or who you are," says Kheva. “"We exist to roll some great dice and build friendships along the way. Whether you're a seasoned player or completely new to the world of gaming, there’s always a seat at the table.”
Beyond the games, YGG aims to foster friendships, encourage creativity, and promote social interactions. Every session is an opportunity to chance your hand and let your imagination soar - from collaborative RPG campaigns to intense strategy battles on the wargaming board.
Learning and teaching for all levels
One of the core values of YGG is its focus on learning and teaching. Newcomers can expect patient guidance, while experienced players are eager to share their knowledge and tips. This approach has created a welcoming space where players of all skill levels, from beginners to veterans, can feel confident and enjoy the experience.
“We encourage everyone to bring their favourite games to show off,” Kheva says. The Guild boasts a diverse game library, including classic board games, intricate RPGs, wargames, and more.
Open games and a strong sense of community
YGG welcomes a wide range of participants, with players spanning ages 12 to 70+. Monday sessions at The Buzz Yarrabilba Community Centre are open to all types of games, providing plenty of options for everyone.
