We’ve broken ground on Yarrabilba’s $7.4 million community hub

Yarrabilba residents are witnessing the first signs of construction of the $7.4 million community hub which is due for completion in mid-2022.

The new state-of-the-art centre – to be built on Basalt Drive - is a joint venture between Lendlease, Logan City Council, the Queensland Government and Brisbane Catholic Education.

A vital building block in supporting our growing community, the community hub will play an important role in our region’s economic recovery and provide vital support services for residents in need.

The hub will create 22 construction jobs, support supply chains and once completed, will provide services that support community well-being and the development of new skills.

Lendlease Head of Queensland Communities Ian Murray said the sod-turning marks a key milestone for our rapidly growing community.

“The new community hub will be a permanent home to ‘The Exchange,’ offering free services for local job seekers and employers to support our community,” he said.

Logan City Lifestyle Chair Councillor Laurie Koranski said the hub would be an inclusive, engaging, and responsive place that enables a thriving community to connect, learn, earn and innovate.

“This new community hub is one part of a community facilities network for Yarrabilba,” Cr Koranski said.

“It will also provide important community services that offer guidance and support for people in need.”
