Premier announces first state primary school for Yarrabilba

On 22 February 2016, Yarrabilba hosted Premier Anastacia Palaszczuk, Minister for Education Kate Jones and local member for Logan Linus Power for the announcement of three new state primary schools in Queensland, one of which is excitingly at Yarrabilba. The new school is planned to open in 2019 and will be the first state school and second primary school for Yarrabilba, following the opening of St Clare’s primary in Jan 2017.

Matthew Mears, Managing Director of Communities, attended the event: “The announcement of Yarrabilba’s first state primary school is a very exciting milestone for our rapidly growing community. Today we have 900 homes and nearly 2,600 residents but by 2041 Yarrabilba will be home to over 45,000 people and will have created 13,000 full time jobs.

“We are committed to the delivery of innovative education services that provide continued learning and development for people of all ages. The state primary school at Yarrabilba is another great example of this. We create the best places by delivering quality living and working environments that create a true sense of belonging for our residents.”

Yarrabilba is the fastest selling community in Queensland. Over 25% of the site is reserved for open space including the first district park - Darlington Parklands.
