Why young people are choosing to call Greater Springfield home

While Greater Springfield caters to any age demographic, more young people than ever before are choosing to call the region home. With enviable amenities such as the Orion Shopping Centre and Swimming Lagoon, Robelle Domain, Brookwater Golf and Country Club and of course, close proximity to public transport and highways, there’s little wonder the average age of Springfield residents is 30.

We caught up with future Springfield Rise residents, Jaira and Mitch, to learn why they decided to put down roots in this ever growing region.

Meet the couple

Meet Jaira! Originally hailing from Melbourne, Jaira works for a start up company in Brisbane CBD. In her spare time, Jaira combines her passion for building her first home with her User Experience Design degree to create illustrations, photography and videography on a freelance basis.

Her partner, Mitch is originally from Newcastle and works in the electrical industry. Like Jaira, Mitch is excited to be located near a Bunnings to kick start landscaping and other projects around the house once their build is completed.

The couple were living in Brisbane for seven years before discovering Greater Springfield when searching for a place to rent. When it came time to decide on building a home, they simply couldn’t go past the Springfield region. “When we eventually decided to build a home together, no other suburb could beat Springfield’s amenities,” says Jaira. “Everything you need is at your doorstep - Orion provides shopping and entertainment, you're surrounded by greenery and nature, and if you need to travel to the city there’s an established railway line that can bring you straight to the CBD.”

Here are some of their top reasons for choosing to build at Springfield Rise.

Close to up-and-coming industries

With a background in startups, Jaira is excited by Greater Springfield’s proposed ‘IDEA City’ – a nine hectare site which will feature a number of tech organisations, and host major events. IDEA stands for Innovation, Design, Entrepreneurship and the Arts. “It excites me that a tech hub will be right in our neighbourhood,” says Jaira.

Nature is on their doorstep

Jaira and Mitch’s lot is strategically positioned near nature. “I love that with our particular lot we’re very close to the nature reserve, so every day we’ll get to wake up to the sound of birds chirping in the morning,” says Jaira. “It’s a very calm and serene place for our future children to grow up.”

The area allows them to future-proof for the next chapter in their lives

As a young couple, it was important for Jaira and Mitch to choose an area that accommodates the needs of growing children. “Looking to the future with our plans for kids in the next few years, we also noted the feeling of safety, nearby hospitals, the abundance of childcare centres and schools, and the overall growth potential of the area,” says Jaira. It was a no-brainer for us to settle in such a beautifully master-planned city.”

Searching for a close-knit community

When deciding which part of Greater Springfield they’d like to build in, the couple couldn’t go past a Lendlease community. “Lendlease are known for their communities,” says Jaira. “I’ve lived in a Lendlease community before, and I’ve had the opportunity to have that neighbourhood feel as well. It allows you to grow up with the people around you and know your neighbour.”

Jaira and Mitch are set to become some of Springfield Rise’s newest residents, with their home build set for completion in mid-2022. If you want to join a close-knit community that’s connected to all the amenity one could desire,  get in touch with our sales team today!
