We heart parks at Springfield Rise!

Our community boasts an abundance of parks and playgrounds that we’re putting the spotlight on during Parks Week – held between the 4th and 12th March.

Here at Springfield Rise, we love parks!

To celebrate Parks Week, held between the 4th and 12th March 2023, we'll be showcasing the best aspects of our local parks.

Our community boasts an abundance of green spaces, including a network of parks and playgrounds that are perfect for residents who want to enjoy the great outdoors.

Did you know Springfield Rise is already home to seven parks, with a further two parks scheduled to open in 2023?

In this blog, we’ll showcase the incredible parks within Springfield Rise, with a preview of Silver Jubilee Park and Mountain Park - coming soon to our community.

Firstly, what is Parks Week?

Parks Week is an annual event that celebrates the importance of parks and green spaces in our communities. It is typically held in the first week of March and is celebrated in several countries, with the aim of promoting the benefits associated with spending time in parks. These benefits include the improvement of physical and mental health, promoting social connections, and providing opportunities for outdoor recreation.

Parks Week is an opportunity for Springfield Rise residents to get outdoors and celebrate the importance of the parks around them, and to encourage their neighbours to get outside and enjoy the natural world around them too.

Park 1 - The Green

Opened in 2018, The Green boasts an open space with playground equipment for the kids, a basketball hoop for half-court games, and an undercover area for parents to kick back, relax and supervise the little ones.

You’ll find The Green at Spring Mountain Boulevard, Spring Mountain (behind Spring Mountain State School).

Park 2 - Sundown Park

If you’ve got a little BMX bandit at home, you cannot go past Sundown Park! With a dedicated BMX track, your little ones will be occupied for hours. If that’s not their speed, there’s plenty of other attractions within the park to keep them occupied – like a Tarzan swing, multi-play equipment and leaf steppers.

For the parents, you’ll want to take note that there is also free WiFi, water bubblers, a picnic shelter and bench seats – meaning you can set yourself up for hours of fun.

Take the kids down to Sundown Park on Twilight Drive within Sunset Ridge to enjoy a great day out.
