Springfield Lakes Netball Club is growing fast
It isn’t only families that choose to make Springfield Rise their new home – we recently welcomed Springfield Lakes Netball Club (SLNC) to the area too!
Club Treasurer Jenny Davis explained that coming to Springfield gave the club room to expand, enabling more local children to give netball a go than ever before.
“Moving our club’s training base to Springfield Central Sports Complex in 2020 allowed us to get bigger and better,” Jenny said.
“We grew from 13 teams to more than 20 and we now have almost 200 registered players aged between seven and 18.
“The 16 hard courts are designed specifically for netball rather than being multi-use courts. Having more courts increased the number of children we can accommodate at our training sessions.
“There are so many benefits that come from having a brand-new facility. Every court has post-pads which are important for player safety and our storage room keeps the equipment in good condition.”
Having its own canteen lets Springfield Lakes Netball Club raise funds and makes training more convenient for players, coaches and parents. The function room is the perfect venue for events which build the club’s family-friendly identity.
“We’re so fortunate to have amazing volunteers,” Jenny said. “These parents and local residents give up their time to coach the kids, operate the canteen and manage the club. Springfield Lakes Netball Club is a real community effort!”
