Festive cheer at an all-time high for Springfield Rise family, the Williams

Santa’s sleigh could be filled to the brim with the flashiest toys and gifts, but the Williams family has already received the best present of all – the keys to their brand-new home.

Christmas is a big deal for Shane, Lize, Austin and Walter Williams, who are looking forward to embracing some of their old festive traditions in their spacious, two-storey abode, built by Coral Homes.

Some of these special traditions include wearing matching pyjamas and receiving a pre-Christmas visit from one of Santa’s elves, who liked to check in to see who is on the naughty or nice list.

“We are looking forward to celebrating Christmas in the new space, jumping in the pool as frequently as we can over the school holidays and welcoming family coming up from Victoria,” Lize said.

“We have a few Christmas brunches planned for family and friends and we’ve got the space to host them now which is lovely.”

Originally hailing from Victoria, the young family were living overseas and wanted to settle down in an area that was family-friendly, connected to amenity and had a strong sense of community.

"We chose Springfield Rise because of its location,” Shane said.

“We made a decision that we would work within 15 or so minutes of where we live, and this community ticked a lot of those boxes. There are lots of new schools nearby for Lize, who is a primary school teacher and lots of opportunities to do with my work. Being a Lendlease development, we also knew it would have a lot of parks. We tested the area by renting in Springfield Lakes and pretty quickly knew we would be happy here, so we went to search for land and found a really nice block that is surrounded by a forest for neighbours and started the process of building a new house for all of us to move into.”

Their two children couldn’t be happier with the decision, and are overjoyed at their close proximity to a skatepark, forest, and neighbouring families with plenty of kids to play with.

While relatively new to the neighbourhood, Shane and Lize have already formed meaningful connections with nearby residents.

“There is another couple who built with Coral Homes on our street and we could talk about our experiences while building – they're a lot of fun,” Shane said.

“We’ve already had a little game of one-upmanship because when they moved in, Lize made them some cookies and bought them a bottle of champagne. About a week later, they came back with custom-made platters that has ‘Williams family’ engraved, which was really lovely.”
