7 school holiday boredom busters near Springfield Rise

 

 

 

 

In need of some ideas to keep your little ones entertained during the spring school holidays? There’s no shortage of activities in Springfield and the greater Ipswich region to inspire and excite the kids. Check out our top seven picks for fun these school holidays!

We understand that no two families’ budgets are the same, so we’ve ensured to include a range of free and lower cost activities that won’t break the bank.

 

 

1.  Kids Go Wild! - FREE

Join the fun over the holidays at City of Ipswich’s popular Kids Go Wild program. Filled with a range of fun activities, the program encourages kids to get involved in their local environment and learn about ways to become more sustainable.

2. YMCA Springfield Lakes Community Centre - $

School holiday fun is hitting the Springfield Rise Display Village Green on Wednesday the 21st of September with a Bunnings plant and sticker day in the park! On the second week of the school holidays, the team will be back to deliver a messy play in the park program on Wed, 28th September. Both sessions require a $3 donation. 3. Ipswich Nature Centre - $

Located within Queens Park, Ipswich Nature Centre features a range of Australian wildlife, lush gardens and exhibits that can entertain kids of all ages! Admission is free, however a gold coin donation is always appreciated.

 

4. Robelle Domain Parklands – FREE

There’s plenty of room to splash, play, run, laugh and have fun at Robelle Domain! Spread over 24 hectares, there is over 11km of boardwalks, sporting fields, walking tracks, playgrounds, and of course, the Orion Lagoon.

5. RSPCA Wacol School Holiday Program - $$$

The RSPCA's school holiday programs are planned as a ‘real-life’ experience for children aged 10 through to 17. All participants across the RSPCA’s programs will get to experience what the amazing staff and volunteers do every day!

6. The Workshops Rail Museum - $$

All aboard! The Workshops Rail Museum offers a wholly-interactive, authentic, heritage and cultural experience for the young and young-at-heart. Located at Australia’s oldest railway workshops still in operation in North Ipswich, there’s plenty to see and do – from their exhibitions right through to their special events.
