Lights, camera, action: Springfield Rise’s neighbourly BBQ and movie night is back!

Come one, come all to Springfield Rise’s upcoming neighbourly barbecue and movie night!

Designed for residents to meet their neighbours and have some good ol’ fashioned family fun, this event is not to be missed.

Mark your calendars as busy from 3:30pm on Saturday, the 23rd of July and head down to Ben Nevis Park to enjoy a complimentary barbecue courtesy of the Spring Mountain State School P&C. This part of the afternoon is perfect for those new to the community, or people simply wanting to form new connections with their neighbours.

After the barbecue, stick around for a screening from Illumination’s iconic animated franchise, Sing 2 – carefully selected by the students at Spring Mountain State School. Join Buster Moon (Matthew McConaughey) and his all-star cast of performers as they prepare to launch their most dazzling stage extravaganza in the glittering entertainment capital of the world. Everything looks like it’s going to plan, but all is not what it seems – as the gang have to convince the world’s most reclusive rock star Clay Calloway (Bono).

For those looking for a bite to eat while they relax and enjoy the movie, there will be free serves of popcorn for the first 200 guests and from 5pm food and drinks available to purchase from Spring Mountain State School and the Springfield Scout Group.

There will be plenty of other exciting activities on offer during the evening, so what are you waiting for? Dust off the picnic rug, call up your neighbours and get ready for a night of laughter and fun.
