Meet first home buyers, Jaira and Mitch
Jaira describes her new life in Springfield Rise as ‘an absolute dream come true’, from the friendly neighbours she passes by on walks right through to the close proximity to nature.
“We wake up every morning to the sweet sounds of birds singing in the nature reserve, and the sight of the sun shining through the trees as I go for my morning run is truly breathtaking,” Jaira said.
“Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, and it’s heart-warming to see how many people wave and greet each other as they pass by. Walking our puppy Cara has been such a joy, as she loves to meet new dogs and people. It’s been a great opportunity for me to connect with our neighbours and get to know them better.”
Say hello to Evelyn and Joseph, international migrators searching for a sunny place to retire
After spending the last 20 years in New Zealand’s windy city, Wellington, Evelyn and Joseph are soaking up the sunshine in nature-filled Springfield Rise.
“We are retired and were looking for warmer weather and we set our eyes on Brisbane because it ticked all the boxes for nice weather, affordability and that’s where we wanted to start our retirement journey,” Evelyn said.
“We’ve been here close to six months and we love it. We have a little doggy that we take for walks regularly and he loves it too. We’re really beginning to enjoy life here in Springfield Rise.”
Location was the motivation for The Williams family to settle in Springfield Rise
Originally hailing from Victoria, Shane, Lize and their two sons, Walter and Austin, love living in Springfield Rise because it is close to everything they need and want
“We made a decision that we would work within 15 minutes or so minutes of where we live, and this community ticked a lot of those boxes,” Shane said.
“Being a Lendlease development, we also knew it would have a lot of parks. We tested the area by renting in Springfield Lakes and pretty quickly knew we would be happy here, so we went to search for land and found a really nice block that is surrounded by a forest for neighbours and started the process of building a new house for all of us to move into.”
Abbott family champions community spirit on Dublin Avenue
Belynda has always considered herself to be a neighbourly person. After moving to Springfield Rise in 2021 and not knowing anyone in the area, Belynda and her family made a conscious effort to reach out to the people on their street.
“The connections I have made on Dublin Avenue will last a lifetime,” Belynda said. “I want to always build a community that supports one another. Connection and giving to others makes me smile, and small acts of kindness can start a ripple effect within the community.”
“When you know your neighbours and your neighbours know you, you look out for one another. It’s a community security measure for all families on the street. It also allows for cultural integration, and creation of new traditions.”
