Australia's Best Planned Development
Greater Springfield, Australia's best master planned development.
Greater Springfield’s emergence as one of Queensland’s newest cities has been acknowledged with the $32 billion development winning the Urban Development Institute of Australia’s (UDIA) national award for best master planned development.
Springfield Land Corporation, Lendlease and Mirvac together nominated the thriving six suburb community and are delighted to jointly receive the prestigious award.
Greater Springfield is positioned as the gateway to the western corridor of south-east Queensland. At 2,860 hectares it is the largest master planned city in Australia and the first city of its kind since Canberra.
Managing Director of Lendlease’s Communities business in Australia, Matt Mears said Springfield Lakes had been meticulously planned to incorporate a range of residential areas, public and private open space, integrated transport networks and retail outlets, while working in harmony with Greater Springfield’s city centre.
“Springfield Lakes embraces the Springfield master plan vision for community integration. Residents have access to superb facilities, and the opportunity to join more than 60 community groups covering everything from playgroups and art to leisure activities,” Mr Mears said.
