The neighbourly spirit is alive and well at Shoreline!

As the Shoreline community grows and expands, so too do the friendships forged between residents. The recent Neighbour Day event was a reminder that the community you want starts at your front door!

A sunny Sunday at Shoreline’s Jingeri Park provided the perfect backdrop for a Neighbour Day breakfast in the park.

Shoreline residents, both present and future, mingled over coffee and delicious pastries from LeTorias at Shoreline while the kids hopped into action to unearth chocolate eggs in the park during the easter egg hunt.

The facepainting and lawn games on offer were also a hit with the community’s young and young-at-heart.

Shoreline Social Impact Manager Danielle Kollanyi said it is fantastic to see the community coming together to celebrate Neighbour Day.

“The community you want starts at your front door, so it is great to see so many residents keen to help create that,” she said.

“Community events like this are a great, informal way for the community to connect. Residents should follow the Shoreline Facebook page for the next meet your neighbour event.”

Neighbour Day is Australia’s annual celebration of community. Lendlease has been partnering with Relationships Australia, the home of Neighbours Every Day since 2016 in communities across Australia.

Other ways you can connect with your fellow Shoreline residents

If you couldn't attend our Neighbour Day breakfast back in March, don't worry - there are still plenty of opportunities to connect with your fellow Shoreline residents! We have highlighted a few upcoming social events on the calendar that provide a chance for you to meet your neighbours.

Yoga and coffee at Jingeri Park: Did you know that A Little Left of Centre hosts yoga sessions in the park in collaboration with onsite café, LeTorias? The sessions, held on select Saturday mornings, are suitable for all levels, from beginners to experienced practitioners. For just $12, you can enjoy a combined package of a 60-minute yoga class along with a small coffee from LeToria's at Shoreline. Don't miss this opportunity to connect with your neighbours and rejuvenate your mind and body in the beautiful surroundings of our community!

Bootcamp and coffee sessions: If you’d rather meet new people by working up a bit more of a sweat, the bootcamp sessions run by Babe Army Fitness might be more your speed! Every Thursday at 6:30am, you can get your heart pumping before indulging in a beautiful cup of coffee at LeTorias. Similar to the yoga sessions, the bootcamp and coffee is bundled together for $15. To learn more or to book in, visit the Babe Army Fitness page on Facebook.

Shoreline’s Movie Night Under the Stars: Psst... save Saturday, 17 June in your calendar for a Movie Night Under the Stars that is not to be missed! There will be a community barbecue from 4pm – 5pm for residents to connect, followed by a movie in the park. More details will be released shortly – keep an eye out for more information on our Facebook page or in your inbox!
