If you’re considering making the move to Kinma Valley, we think the best advice on what to expect comes from real people who have done exactly the same thing at other Lendlease communities.
Recently we’ve asked our residents at three of our established Queensland communities, Springfield Rise, Elliot Springs and Yarrabilba, to answer some of the questions that we most frequently hear.
By reading about their real experiences you can learn more about their home building journey and what life is like for them after making their move with Lendlease.
Belynda A, Springfield Rise
Why did you choose to buy land and build at Springfield Rise?
“Initially we wanted to find a location that was convenient for work – we weren’t familiar with this area at all, but that’s how we discovered Springfield. I’m really glad we did, because we fell in love with the area right away!”
“We found the buying and building process to be very smooth. Lendlease did a great job helping to find the right block of land then communicating with us so we were kept informed from start to finish.”
“Our home is elevated so we have city views which we love.”
Did you find it easy to meet your new neighbours?
“Oh yes! During the build we rented nearby, which made it easy to feel like part of the community before we even moved in.”
“I really enjoyed the friendly, casual atmosphere at the Neighbour Day barbecue, it was the ideal way to start chatting and getting to know the other residents.”
“It was lovely to see people walking past who decided to join in, the positivity we felt at the Neighbour Day was really appealing. Everyone who came along seemed to feel welcomed and got involved with swapping phone numbers and making new connections.”
Do you think Springfield Rise is a family friendly place to live?
“Definitely, living here really suits our family because there’s always something to do and plenty of space for the children to explore. The parks are well maintained, so the area looks inviting, it is a lovely place to call home.”
“Joining groups like your school’s P&C is an excellent way to meet more people. Getting involved with your children’s favourite sporting clubs and with the regular community events hosted by Lendlease will connect you with more local families, especially when you are new to the area.”
Ashlee K, Elliot Springs
When did you build your new home in Elliot Springs?
“This is actually our second time building at Elliot Springs!”
“We started our first property in late 2018 and moved in after it was finished in April 2019. Then in mid-2020 we began the process of creating our second home here which was completed in January 2022.”
What first attracted you to Elliot Springs?
“After looking at some other areas and comparing them all, we found that blocks of land at Elliot Springs were really affordable.”
“We liked that it was a new community, which had lots of potential for future growth – it’s going to keep getting better as more amenities are completed.”
“It’s close to town, which is very convenient, however it is also a peaceful and quiet place to live which we appreciate.”
What do like about your community?
“We’ve enjoyed attending community events that have been put on, like the markets and food trucks. My partner goes running around the area, so the walking tracks are ideal for that.”
“Our new home is beautiful, we absolutely love it and we can’t wait to raise our family here!”
“It’s been really great to spend time with friends who live near us within the community. Since we arrived we’ve had other friends who also decided to make their move to Elliot Springs too.”
Carolyn J, Yarrabilba
What were your first impressions of Yarrabilba?
“We had looked at many suburbs within Logan to build our first home together, but from the moment we drove into Yarrabilba I instantly felt a sense of belonging.”
“The natural aspects of The Parks were what attracted us to this community, including the walking areas and park views as well as being able to see koalas and other wildlife in their own habitat.”
Why do you think people are choosing to build here?
“I think Yarrabilba is growing in popularity amongst home buyers, as the price of building a new home is much lower than in the metropolitan areas. Yarrabilba also has great school infrastructure and the parks just ooze family life.”
“We are most excited about having a park right opposite our home, which will offer amazing views and leisurely walking areas.”
“The benefits of living outside a metropolitan area and in a community with more green open space is the natural wildlife. The Parks is still central to roads connecting to the Gold Coast and Brisbane as well as having ‘more bang for your buck’ with bigger houses and land solutions.”
