First home buyers excited for their future at Kinma Valley
First time home-buyers Jemma and Josh, and their beloved Cavoodle, Honey, have secured their lot within Hazelwood, Kinma Valley’s first neighbourhood, and are excited to plant roots in a leafy green community.
The couple, who are currently based in Strathpine, but have also lived in Brisbane and Gympie, knew they wanted to find their home in the Moreton Bay region.
“We liked Moreton Bay because it is close to the Sunshine Coast, but then also close to Brisbane, so it’s good to be in-between and have the best of both worlds,” Jemma said. “Plus, Moreton Bay is growing and has a great lifestyle with everything you need.”
From house-hunting to deciding to build
When they first started their home buying journey, Jemma originally wanted to buy land and build, while her partner, Josh, wanted to buy an existing home.
“We compromised, I said we’ll buy a house, but we both have to really like it,” Jemma said. “After almost a year of searching, we could not find something that we both liked and what fit our budget, so we just gave up and instead decided we wanted to build something that we want, and that was right for us.”
After discovering Kinma Valley online, the couple made an appointment with the sales team on-site , where they learnt about the future community’s masterplan, which includes a 3,000sqm Neighbourhood Hub, an expansive central park and numerous nature and adventure parks, as well as over six kilometers of walking and cycle trails.
“We had looked at all the other estates around the area, including ones that had lots of land available and ready to go, but we chose Kinma Valley and decided we were happy to wait until it was ready. We knew it would be worth the wait!” Jemma said.
Leafy-green living between the trees
Setting their sights on getting into the property market and making their dream home a reality, affordability was at the top of the list for the young couple. “Kinma Valley has affordable land, which is important as we are first home buyers,” Jemma said.
“We liked the thought of living between green trees, and the Glasshouse Mountains. We were also impressed with Kinma Valley’s commitment to protecting the local fauna and flora and all the sustainability initiatives. The concept of connecting with the community and being in a tight-knit neighbourhood was great as well.”
The couple will be building their single story, four-bedroom home, with local builder CMA Homes. “We chose CMA because we love their designs. We’ll be making some small changes to the design to really make it our own,” Jemma said.
A bright future on the horizon
Looking forward to enjoying nature at their doorstep and room for their dog, Honey, to run and play, Jemma and Josh are excited for what’s to come in their future community.
“Once moved in we look forward to eventually starting a family in the future, but first, we want to enjoy life with our dog. We’re very happy,” Jemma said.
Set to become one of the most sought after addresses in the Moreton Bay area, Kinma Valley will be home to over 6,500 residents on completion, with everything you need to live well- including shops, schools, services, and transport- at your doorstep.
