Discover the history of Lendlease
Lendlease is renowned for creating award-winning urban precincts, new communities for older people and young families just starting out, retail spaces, and workplaces of the highest sustainability standards.
From humble beginnings to creating landmark projects, Lendlease founder Dick Dusseldorp had a vision to create the best places that inspire and enrich the lives of people around the world.
For more than 60 years Lendlease has been working around the globe, shaping cities and creating strong, connected communities. Lendlease have even been entrusted with many projects of public, cultural and social significance, including constructing the iconic Sydney Opera House, creating the National September 11 Memorial and Museum in New York and restoring and renovating London’s Tate Britain and National Theatre.
In our backyard
In Queensland, Lendlease has created a number of vibrant and thriving residential communities - Fernbrooke Ridge, Forest Lake, Springfield Lakes, Stoneleigh Reserve and Woodlands – and has even more that are currently under construction including, Shoreline Redlands, Springfield Rise at Spring Mountain, Yarrabilba and Kinma Valley.
In order to create these aspirational communities, Lendlease place great importance on understanding and exceeding the needs, wants and desires of residents through offering a wide range of attainable living options in environments that deliver early amenity and are truly beautiful and sustainable.
Lendlease Urban Design Manager Sue Dewar said people like to surround themselves with things and people that resonate with them.
“While diversity and choice are paramount, it needs to be anchored by place. By understanding what makes a place unique and staying true to that, makes a place where people want to be,” she said.
“Lendlease create communities that are innovative and founded on sustainability. Sustainable design seeks to reduce negative impacts on the environment, and the health and comfort of people. The basic objectives of sustainability are to reduce consumption of non-renewable resources, minimise waste, and create healthy, productive environments where people can live a healthy life.”
Live well philosophy
Across its residential communities, Lendlease is empowering residents to live well, creating connected communities that enhance lifestyles now and well into the future.
Living well is a feeling and a way of being. It’s the act of curating your life, so that you are always surrounded by the things and people you love and you are able to stay connected to what matters most, in a place and environment that’s truly yours.
Lendlease is creating a masterplanned community at Kinma Valley that considers that best possible outcomes for the environment and its future residents. The community will be a game-changer for the area but one which fits cohesively with the location and the needs and ideals of residents. Kinma Valley is a vibrant community that will support residents to feel at home in a neighbourhood they are proud to belong to.
