Construction is underway at Kinma Valley! Take a look at what’s been happening.

Positioned close to nearby Carmichael College and just a short walk to the future Neighbourhood Hub and Adventure Park, once complete Hazelwood will feature more than 345 lots, and be home to approximately 900 residents.

Hazelwood Stage 1 and 2
Construction of stages 1 and 2 of Hazelwood, Kinma Valley’s first neighbourhood, is now starting to take shape. Bulk earthworks for stages 1 and 2 was finalised in early August and topsoil placed on lots in Hazelwood stages 1 & 2.

Anticipated Registration - April 2024
Anticipated Valuation & Soil test access - February 2024
Anticipated Power Connection - January 2024
Anticipated Water Connection - December 2023
Hazelwood Stage 3 and 4
Bulk earthworks for stages 3 and 4 was also finalised in early August and topsoil placed on the lots. Earthworks along Jacko Place (future Kinma Valley Boulevard) has commenced – which will be the future main connection from stages 1 and 2 to Oakey Flat Road.

Jacko Place (Future Kinma Valley Boulevard) and Oakey Flat Road Intersection
Installation of traffic controls along Oakey Flat Road are expected to commence in August. This will enable the upgrade of Oakey Flat Road and Jacko Place and will be the first entry into Kinma Valley.
Jacko Place (Future Kinma Valley Boulevard) Upgrade
Earthworks along Jacko Place (future Kinma Valley Boulevard) has commenced. This road will be upgraded to a boulevard standard and will be the main connection for Hazelwood to Oakey Flat Road.
Neighbourhood hub
Design work is being finalised on the neighbourhood hub and the surrounding landscaping. A builder will soon be selected, and construction is expected to commence in the coming months.
Enhancing and protecting the living landscape
Since late-2022, rehabilitation and revegetation works have been underway within the community’s central environmental corridor, that spans a length of 100 metres through the site.
At a 187-hectare offset site in Moorina, extensive rehabilitation activities including weeding and planting tube stock are also underway. Nesting boxes have also been installed for native wildlife and key environmental areas have been fenced off.
