Are there any community markets at Elliot Springs?

What options do I have for internet/phone services?
OptiComm is a licenced telecommunications carrier that specialises in the design, construction, operation and maintenance of Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) networks for new residential and business developments.
OptiComm is a wholesale provider like the NBN, and does not provide retail internet or telephone service plans. Please go to the OptiComm website to find the list of retail service provider (RSP) partners who provide services on the OptiComm network in Elliot Springs.

Upon completion Elliot Springs will be home to 26,000 residents which equates to over 10,000 residential dwellings.

The Elliot Springs BP at the entrance to the community offers fresh food, drive through barista made coffee, convenience and grocery items plus fuel, it really is a one stop shop.

Who are the traditional custodians of the Elliot Springs?
The Traditional Custodians of the Elliot Springs area are the Bindal People and they call their Country ‘Thul Garrie Waja’. Wadda Mooli Park takes its name from the Bindal People’s Birrigubba language, it means welcome, or goodbye and greetings. As the centre piece of our community, it is a park we welcome the wider community to come and enjoy with us.

What is the future neighbourhood centre?
The future neighbourhood centre is a commercial area which we anticipate will have a range of retail and professional services. It’s currently in planning stages and we look forward to sharing information with the community when plans and tenancies are finalised.

Who is OptiComm? Why don’t we use the nbn?
The National Broadband Network (NBN) is an Australian national wholesale open-access data network project with both wired, and radio communication components being rolled out and operated by NBN Co Limited (nbn™).
OptiComm is a licenced telecommunications carrier that specialises in the design, construction, operation and maintenance of Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) networks for new residential and business developments. OptiComm is a fully compliant premium alternative to the NBN, and has been contracted to ensure that LL’s networks are based on FTTP network technology and are available prior to the first residents moving in. The OptiComm FTTP network is based on an open access platform and offers a selection of products and services over and above those currently available on the NBN.

Is there wifi at Wadda Mooli Park?
Yes there is! There isn't a data limit, however major downloads are likely to be slow on a public WiFi network. We encourage responsible use of the free service so that it remains functional for all of the community.

What are the public transportation options for Elliot Springs
There is a school bus service currently operating within Elliot Springs. Further down the track, a community bus is scheduled to operate from the occupation of the 500th residential lot. This will link Elliot Springs to the Fairfield Shopping precinct where people can then access the Townsville public transport service. It is forecast that the Townsville public transport service will extend to Elliot Springs following the occupation of the 2,000th residential lot, however this is at the discretion of the Department of Transport.
