NAIDOC Week 2021
NAIDOC Week is held every year across Australia to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of First Nations peoples. In 2021, NAIDOC Week will be from 4 July - 11 July.
NAIDOC Week is an important week in the annual calendar that is celebrated not only by First Nations communities, but by Australians of all cultures and diverse backgrounds.
The theme for NAIDOC Week 2021 is ‘Heal Country!’, as First Nations peoples everywhere reinforce the call for stronger measures to recognise, protect and maintain all aspects of culture and heritage for all Australians.
NAIDOC Week is celebrated not only in First Nations communities, but by Australians from all walks of life. It’s a fantastic opportunity to participate in activities that support, and show solidarity to, local First Nations communities.
We encourage everyone to join in with recognising and celebrating the 65,000-year history of Australia and its peoples. It’s an opportunity to learn about and celebrate the oldest continuing cultures on the planet and the ongoing spiritual and cultural connections to the land and sea.
