Getting to know your neighbours
Did you attend the Elliot Springs’ Meet the Neighbours Day? The special event was a celebration of our connected community, bringing together our long-term residents as well as welcoming some new friendly faces, not to mention some of our four-legged friends.
Held on the lawn outside The Hub, residents enjoyed a winter afternoon in the sun, eating complimentary grazing boxes, wine and beer, drinks and eats for the kids plus live music and games.
Elliot Springs Social Sustainability Manager Danielle Kollanyi said the Neighbour Day was an opportunity to mingle and meet our fellow neighbours.
“Knowing your neighbours builds a strong and connected community, it was great to see residents out enjoying the winter sunshine and getting to know each other,” she said.
“Did you know that there is an official Neighbour Day, held on the last Sunday of March every year? But every day can be Neighbour Day, can be a simple hi when you take out the bins.”
At Elliot Springs, there are many activities, events and projects to get involved in to feel part of our local community and are a great opportunity to connect and form friendships with other residents.
Elliot Springs & Surround Playgroup
Did you know there is a regular Elliot Springs Playgroup held at The Hub? It’s a great opportunity to connect with other families in our area, enjoy a yummy morning tea and the other kids can enjoy messy play. For more information visit the Elliot Springs Playgroup Facebook page here.
Elliot Springs Community Garden
The community garden is situated at Wadda Mooli Park and run by residents. They are always looking for volunteers to get their hands dirty and help with garden maintenance. For more information on the garden follow the Facebook page here.
Bindal Ridge Fun Run
Another great way to get involved in the community is to encourage your fellow neighbours to take part in the Bindal Fun Run on Sunday 10th July. Fun Runs are great for both those who are competitive and family/friend groups. For all the details and to book your ticket visit: https://bit.ly/3xNu2hE
