Connect, share and learn at the Elliot Springs Community Hub
The Hub provides our Elliot Springs residents and visitors with a place to come together as a community. It’s a relaxing place to connect with friends and family while also making connections with members of our wider community.
Celebrating what’s great about living in our community, it’s the perfect time to come visit the Hub, just in time for Parks Week 2022, taking place from March 5-13.
Essentially Fresh owner Meghan Tschumy who manages the Hub, said the facility provides a safe environment for families to spend time together, enjoy a coffee while the kids play, and an opportunity to get outdoors.
“It is important for a facility like this to bring a new community together to help grow and encourage connections. You’ve probably seen Rhiannan’s friendly face when you order from the café,” she said.
“The Hub is in the perfect location, across from Wadda Mooli Park and allows residents to grab a coffee and catch up with loved ones. We also have food options for children and with the beautiful park and large soccer field, the kids will be able to have fun for hours.
“Working at the Hub has really given me a better perspective of supporting your local businesses. Without small businesses, like the Hub and Essentially Fresh, you find there isn’t as much love put into the products produced. After a few rocky years with covid, we really appreciate the Elliot Springs community who continue to support us. We have quite a few regulars and I love catching up with them while they wait for their coffees.”
The Hub community space is available to hire for a range of events both during the day and in the evening. The facility has a range of furniture that is able for use, including chairs, picnic rugs, bean bags, tables and even a fridge!
“We have hosted baby showers, birthday parties, and even meetings held in the room. Some of our regular users include the Wesleyan Church and their youth group, baby playgroup and the Wulguru State School playgroup,” said Meghan.
"One of our biggest events for the Hub this year is our pizzas for the Friday Food Trucks nights! We are super excited to bring more variety of our gourmet pizzas to the event. We believe events like these bring the community together and also spread the word of other local businesses and the amazing products they have to offer. We are hoping to organise our own events through the year as well.
“We would love to thank the Elliot Springs community for showing their support. We are super excited to see what this year brings.”
The Hub café is open Friday to Sunday from 7:30am to 1:30pm. Community space bookings are available seven days a week and viewings are welcome. The Hub offers a range of freshly made sandwiches, gourmet pies, toasties, sweets and much more! Freshly brewed coffee is also super popular and perfect for an early morning play in the park before it gets too hot. For warmer days there’s cold drinks including iced coffee which is a crowd favourite! Meghan and her team are always looking at new items they can offer in the future.
