Bindal Ridge Fun Run 2022
Calling all Townsville residents... are you ready to compete in a fun, family event that gets you into our great outdoors, while giving you the opportunity to connect with your fellow neighbours?
The second annual Bindal Ridge Fun Run, taking place on Sunday, 10th July, is a 5km race which will see the winners crowned King and Queen of the Springs. There is also a slower paced alternative for those that prefer flatter ground.
The 2021 Queen of the Springs, Ashleigh Gunn is set to reclaim her title, running the track in an impressive 35 minutes last year.
“The Bindal Ridge Fun Run is an amazing, fun community event that caters for all people, no matter your fitness level,” said Ashleigh.

“I’m not a runner myself, but like to keep fit and active and am a little competitive. I love that this event can be as challenging as you want. You can push yourself up the Moongun track, or you can enjoy the less intensive option and get the family involved for a walk around the Elliot Springs community.
“Events like this are a great way to bring the community together. It was great to see people dressed up for the occasion, from kids through to the family dog. I will definitely take part this year as I need to defend my title.”
Whether you are an experienced runner who wants to challenge yourself up the Moongun track or want to enjoy a leisurely stroll in nature with friends, young and young-at-heart are all invited to take part. Why not even bring a picnic rug and enjoy the winter weather with your fellow neighbours!
Event organiser, Kate Annetts said it takes a community to deliver an event of this scale. If you are keen to be involved as a volunteer or want to make your mark as the King or Queen of the Springs, follow the Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/BindalRidgeFunRun
