Meet the friendly face behind Michael Case Homes’ newest display home, the East Port, and discover her expert tips for stylish home design.
Michael Case Homes Townsville has just unveiled their new display home in Elliot Springs’ display village. Boasting beautiful, high-end finishes, elevated living spaces and a calming minimalistic style, there’s so much to love about this coastal inspired oasis.
We sat down with Renée, the creative force behind Michael Case Homes Townsville, to get a sneak peek into the design vision behind the East Port display and discover her top tips for building and designing your dream home.
Meet Renée: The creative mind behind Michael Case Homes

The legacy that Michael Case began is being carried on by his eldest daughter Renée, who brings a wealth of experience and passion to her role at local Townsville builder, Michael Case Homes. Growing up around job sites, Renée developed a keen eye for design by observing her father.
"I started working formally in the company around 14 years ago and learnt how to design by watching Dad. I discovered my passion for both home and interior design and became more and more heavily involved with all the creative sides of the business,” Renée said.
From designing and styling display homes to managing social media and assisting clients with their selections, Renée's expertise spans various aspects of the home building process.
“I also work with our Draftsman Aidan on all of our standard designs and facades and help clients select the finishes for their homes in our selection studio,” Renée said.
"I absolutely love working here and am so grateful that Dad created Michael Case Homes.”
Balancing her professional life with her role as mother to her daughter Ocean and her furry companion, Caramel the Pomeranian, Renée's interests extend beyond design.
"We love spending time at the beach, listening to music, driving with the windows down, and love looking at anything house or interior design related."

A new tropical resort-inspired East Port design
Renée draws inspiration from her travels and experiences, infusing unique elements into each design. The East Port display home was inspired by a serene resort in the Whitsundays, reflecting a coastal aesthetic with a resort-style twist.
"I was inspired by a beautiful resort in the Whitsundays I visited,” Renee said.
"I drew on this inspiration when designing our newest display home, the East Port, which is located at the Whites Creek Display Village in Elliot Springs. The resort had gorgeous battens on the walls which I have incorporated into our façade, as a resort style alternative to weatherboard.”
“This design is perfect for first home buyers and young families who are looking for something a bit special, above and beyond the basic first home.”
The display features 4 bedrooms, a separate second lounge, spacious living areas, two large outdoor entertainment zones, a mud room, study niche, and a spacious walk-in robe and ensuite.
“Layout wise, we wanted to create a home that would fit on smaller lots if needed and have a smaller footprint than some of our larger designs, but still include all the features our clients want and love about our homes.”
For Renee, it was all about the dreamy details and finer finishes to bring the home together.
"I wanted to have a bit of fun with some of the finishes. We incorporated a blush pink door, resort style battens to the façade, gorgeous natural travertine tiles in the ensuite and brass half-moon handles throughout."
If you’re considering buying land to build your dream home, visiting a display home can spark inspiration to get you started on your journey.
"Display homes offer so much inspiration and really help to get your creativity flowing. Actually standing in these beautiful homes is so different to just looking at photos."
Building for the Townsville lifestyle
Renee, with her keen eye for contemporary aesthetics, ensures that Michael Case Homes remains at the forefront of design trends.
"Our clients love a coastal feel with weatherboard and lasing of white," she explains, noting its suitability for Townsville's tropical climate. “Hamptons and farmhouse styles are also very popular.”
"Nothing compares to the feeling of seeing your own beautiful home come to life and loving everything about it because you chose it!
As a local Townsville builder, Michael Case Homes offers personalised service to ensure a tailored experience for each client.
"With a legacy dating back to 1989, we're a local family business, so we work closely with you.
“Our homes have garnered a following for their beautiful distinctive style, and we have a gorgeous library of designs which we customise to achieve dream homes for each of our clients. From assisting with finance to selecting the perfect block, we can guide you through every stage of building.”
