Australian Italian Festival (1-2 June)

2024 Repco Supercars Championship - NTI Townsville 500 (5th-7th July)

Kicking off the mid-year festivities is the high-octane excitement of the 2024 Repco Supercars Championship. The NTI Townsville 500 roars back to the streets of Townsville from the 5th to the 7th of July, promising a weekend filled with fast-paced action and thrilling races.  

As the streets transform into a racing circuit, gear up for an unforgettable experience as top drivers compete in the heart of the city. Australian Festival of Chamber Music (26 July - 4 August) 

Kicking off the cultural calendar is the Australian Festival of Chamber Music. For over 30 years, this event has been enchanting audiences with its unique blend of international talent, innovative programming, and the laid-back charm of Townsville-Gurambilbarra.  

With more than 30 musicians from around the globe performing in exclusive collaborations, the festival promises an unparalleled experience. RootBound Festival 2024 (9-12 August)

Experience music, arts, and land care at the RootBound Festival in Forrest Beach. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Mungalla Station's coastal wetlands, this four day celebration aims to foster a deep connection between attendees and the land. Burdekin Water Festival (31 August) 

Celebrate the abundance of water in the district with the Burdekin Water Festival in Ayr. As one of Queensland's longest-running festivals, it encompasses the whole community with exciting events, including an art exhibition featuring works by local artists in various mediums. 

North Australian Festival of Arts (26 Sep - 13 Oct) 

Prepare for an 18-day celebration of art, culture, and community at the North Australian Festival of Arts (NAFA). Taking over Strand Park, NAFA promises eclectic and vibrant events, including comedy, dance, theatre, circus, music, and visual arts.

Cape Pallarenda Trail Run (01 Sep) 

For those seeking an adrenaline rush, the Outer Limits Trail Run Series presents the Cape Pallarenda Trail Run. Set against the historical backdrop of WWII defence locations, this trail run takes participants through the breathtaking Mt Marlow summit, Smedleys Ridge, and the popular 'Under the Radar' single track. With sweeping views of Cleveland Bay, Magnetic Island, and the Coral Sea, this event is a must for mountain bikers, trail runners, and bushwalkers.
