Community spirit gains pace at the 2023 Bindal Ridge Fun Run

Passionate running enthusiasts and fitness lovers gathered in Elliot Springs in October and got their hearts racing for the annual Bindal Ridge Fun Run!

On Sunday, October 15th, Bindal Ridge Trailhead at Elliot Springs came alive with 162 runners and walkers for the third annual Bindal Ridge Fun Run. Facilitated by the QCWA ACES and Townsville Road Runners, the event attracted locals from across Townsville for a day filled with adventure, camaraderie, and unforgettable memories.

Participants laced up their sneakers and either participated in the challenging 5km race along the Bindal Ridge track or enjoyed a more leisurely 3km course through Wadda Mooli Park and surrounds. Residents and visitors were excited to gain exclusive access to the Bindal Ridge trail, which has been temporarily closed during the construction of the Elliot Springs water reservoir.

Breakfast was served by the Happy Vibes café team, and competitors received goodie bags filled with fantastic prizes.

Competitors also had the opportunity to showcase their unique style and creativity in the ‘best dressed’ competition, and with their furry friends joining the fun in the ‘best dressed furbaby’ contest.
